Big Idea: Jesus models for us that loving our neighbor means embracing service in the midst of interruptions and heeding God’s compassion for the needs of others around us.
Application: One unplanned act of service
This week, we encourage you to embrace one unplanned act of service. Choose to respond to interruptions with grace rather than impatience or annoyance.
Consider starting each day by inviting the Spirit's divine interruptions into your life, or reflect each evening with the Examen, reviewing your day in partnership with God and asking the Spirit to reveal the holy interruptions you experienced or overlooked.
This journey invites you to slow down and stay attentive to the moments that may be divinely orchestrated. If you don’t encounter a noticeable interruption, seek out needs around you and respond to them with compassion.
As you serve, pay attention to your heart’s desire to be seen. Talk to God about it. Let God free your heart from the approval or disapproval of others.
