2 Corinthians 2:12-3:6

Big Idea: We are not sufficient in ourselves; our sufficiency is from God.

Application: Sabbath is not primarily about rest from exhaustion. It is about rest from self-sufficiency.

This week, consider practicing Sabbath. Below are a few things to keep in mind,

  1. Set a consistent 24-hour period each week where you cease vocational work.
  2. Turn off productivity inputs — email, work messaging, planning.
  3. Name your anxieties before you stop.
  4. Write down what feels urgent and consciously entrust it to God.
  5. Do what restores delight in God’s world,
    1. slow meals
    2. walks
    3. worship
    4. unhurried time with family
  6. End the day by thanking God for what He sustained without your involvement.
