Big Idea: Generosity flows from grace, not surplus.
Application: Generosity is ultimately an act of trust before it is an act of provision. It’s choosing to believe that God is enough even when our instincts tell us to cling tighter.
So this week, I want to invite us into a practice — not just an idea.
- First, I want you to prayerfully ask the Spirit this question:
- “Where have my hands slowly closed?”
- Maybe financially.
- Maybe emotionally.
- Maybe relationally.
- Maybe with your time or availability or compassion.
- Where have fear, exhaustion, or self-protection started shaping your posture more than trust?
- And then second, choose one intentional act of generosity this week that actually costs you something.
- Not excess.
- Not convenience.
- Something that requires trust.
- Maybe it’s paying for someone’s meal or helping meet a need.
- Maybe it’s opening your home when it feels inconvenient.
- Maybe it’s giving time to someone when your schedule already feels full.
- Maybe it’s offering encouragement, forgiveness, or presence when it would be easier to withdraw.
