2 Corinthians 3:7-18

Big Idea: As we behold Jesus, he is at work in us and transforming us into his likeness.

Application: One of the primary ways followers of Jesus have done this for centuries is through the practice of Scripture meditation.

Here a few thoughts to keep in mind as you behold Jesus as you read scripture this week,

  1. Choose a small passage.
    1. Read it two, three, maybe even four times.
  2. Pay attention.
    1. Ask: What does this show me about Jesus?
    2. Think about what stands out.
    3. What words or phrases catch your attention?
  3. Sit with it.
    1. Spend a few minutes reflecting on that truth.
  4. Respond.
    1. Talk to God about what He is showing you.
  5.  Thank Him.
    1.  Confess the places you look for life elsewhere.

The aim is not just to check a box of reading scripture but to experience the Spirit begin to transform you into the likeness of Christ.
