2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10

Big Idea: What is eternal reshapes how we endure what is temporary.

Application: It is one thing to know and believe that we are being reshaped by the eternal reality that is to come, but it is another thing to put those words or thoughts into action. Fasting is a practice that helps us remember that what is unseen matters more than what is seen.

Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind as you work to be more attentive to Christ during your fast.

  1. Every time you feel that hunger, that physical reminder, you are given an opportunity to turn your attention.
  2. Pause
  3. Pray
  4. Remember.
  5. Choose what your fast will look like.
  6. Skip a meal.
  7. Consider fasting a whole day from sunup to sundown.
  8. Maybe fast from tech, cultivate a space and time away from the constant noise and distractions around you.

The aim is to be present with God in those moments when your body says, "I’m hungry."
